About Me

iusa_400x400.58352326_myipI am a creative at heart, with an inherent passion for simple, elegant design and a deep, unrelenting need for visual balance. Throughout my career I’ve been focused on delivering user-centric, effective designs and data solutions to a variety of amazing and diverse clients. I started my professional life when the internet was in its infancy, and I’ve witnessed first-hand the evolution and tremendous impact that it’s had on our lives. From small start-ups to large corporations, from unique, one-of-a-kind design efforts to complex, and repeatable large-scale software implementations, I believe that every experience has broadened my perspective in some important way.

Professional Life: I started my career working at a small green start-up where, as is the case with most small businesses, we all wore many hats – in addition to my obvious marketing and design duties, I was also responsible for organizing the company’s move into a new office location, overseeing the janitorial contract, and planning the company picnic. I then moved on to a large publishing organization, and was tasked with transforming the delivery of product data from an antiquated system (think large 3-ring binders that were out of date by the time the ink dried) to on-demand, database-driven information solutions available to our 300+ national field reps 24*7.  I next became the solo project manager/web producer in a 5-person web agency, where I was responsible for directing creative for site redesigns, designing and defining site requirements, implementing content management systems and eCommerce search solutions, managing client relationships and keeping team members on-task and on-time. I then returned to the corporate world once again, this time with a mid-size organization where I managed large-scale, software as a service, eCommerce implementations. I was given the responsibility of delivering first-of-kind implementations for 2 consecutive platform releases, and then took on the program lead for the organization’s largest account. My next role took me into the financial sector, where I managed Digital Transformation initiatives for a financial services provider within an Agile development environment focused on the Operations, Talent and Accounting portfolios.  I love the inspiration I’ve found from my work, and from all the wonderful people I’ve been fortunate enough to meet along the way.

Personal Life: As for me personally, I am a left coast native, having spent most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a few years in Santa Barbara for some good-old college fun. As a young professional, I spent a decade living it up in the City and I now enjoy a more low-key, suburban lifestyle in a historical North Bay town well known for its chickens and cheese, where I live with my husband, 2 children, 2 cats, and a garden that could use some weeding. I love to travel and have a habit of planning my next vacation the moment my current vacation starts – top destinations on my list currently include (but are not limited to): Costa Rica, Iceland, Denmark/Sweden, Alaska, the Carribean, Peru and the Galapagos Islands.
